In CAS Merlin CPQ we offer a cloud-based application which maps product configuration, price calculation and quote creation in a single CPQ solution which can then be seamlessly connected to third-party systems. Your sales team can then use the cloud solution to create error free configurations and quotes for specific customer requirements.
When using CAS Merlin CPQ as software as a service (SaaS) the CPQ solution is not installed locally on your computer. Instead, users access the software online. As service provider, CAS Software AG is responsible for the necessary infrastructure, hardware, security measures and error free operation of the software. Instead of having to make a one-time investment, you can make smaller, regular payments for the use of the SaaS solution.
Maximum flexibility for sales
CAS Merlin CPQ can be scaled flexibly and adapted to fit the size of your sales team – we always provide the right resources for a high-performance system. The individual software modules are purchased for defined roles within the sales department. This means that a major customer with networked sales teams and a large dealer network receives a product that is just as tailored to their needs as a medium-sized company with a small sales team.

Gapless monitoring helps to protect against outages
Our systems are monitored both internally and externally. Should a malfunction occur, or should the system become unavailable for any reason, then our IT standby team are notified fully automatically.
Which data protection regulations apply to the data?
When handling your data, we comply with the applicable legal provisions such as the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act.
Where is the Merlin Cloud hosted?
The Merlin Cloud is a fair and digitally sovereign cloud platform. According to the quality seals of approval: "Software Made in Germany" and "Software Hosted in Germany", it goes without saying that your data is protected inline with the EU-GDPR. That is why we work with data centers located in Germany that host in compliance with German law.
Together with our data centers we are certified according to the ISO 27001 standard. All data is hosted in an independent high-security data center in Germany which is certified according to the ISO 27001 standard.
All elementary components of the software are created redundantly to prevent data loss. Secure communications between third-party systems and the data center is guaranteed as all transferred data are encrypted using TLS encryption. Furthermore, the physical storage location of the data is exclusively within the EU.
How are personal data processed?
We process and save personal data if necessary to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. Three years after the respective contract between you and CAS Merlin has expired, we will check whether we still need your data and whether any statutory obligations prevent us from deleting it. If the data are no longer required to fulfill contractual or legal obligations, we delete them regularly.
You can revoke your permission to process your personal data anytime, according to article 7(3) of the EU-GDPR. Customers can control the storing and deletion of their personal data with the CPQ solution. For the purpose of user management, you can access personal data from an existing Active Directory.
What data does CAS Merlin CPQ process?
Depending on the use case, different data such as user or customer data from quotes is saved and processed in the different CAS Merlin CPQ modules. You, as the customer, can control these data yourself.
To whom are the data transferred?
At CAS Software AG, all persons who need access to fulfill company duties are granted access. If required to implement the contract, your data will also be transferred to credit agencies, other service providers, lawyers, collection agencies, judicial officers, and courts where appropriate.
What do you need to consider when saving personal data in CAS Merlin CPQ?
According to the new EU-GDPR, any company that commissions the processing of personal data by a service provider needs to enter into a job processing contract.
Who is responsible for processing the data?
